Watch a Getty conservator analyze and treat a drawing using a variety of techniques.

Produced in conjunction with an exhibition on paper conservation, this short video was displayed on an interactive video kiosk next to the drawing along with didactic wall panel with further information.

Rather than providing explicit information about conservation treatments, the video shows how conservators’ respect for the original intent of the artist allows viewers to focus on the beauty of the design — not the damage.
